Our Heart for
Children and Families
We exist to serve children and families impacted by foster care by providing safe homes, supportive communities, and compassionate resources during times of crisis. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every child is created with dignity, value, and purpose, and that families deserve support as they work toward stability and restoration.
Through foster care, family support services, and church partnerships, we seek to bring hope, healing, and lasting change to our community.
Our Story
Camp Rock of Georgia began with both a broken heart and a dream — a shared passion among Jay and Sandra Watkins to meet the needs of vulnerable and underprivileged children in South Georgia. What started as a desire to serve has grown into a mission focused on caring for children and families facing difficult circumstances, with a commitment to bringing hope, support, and opportunity to those who need it most.
As the need continued to grow, so did the vision. In Atlanta, Briana Cox, one of the current Journeymen, recognized the challenges faced by children entering foster care and began responding in a practical way by creating a clothing closet specifically for foster children and families. Through this work, it became clear that there was an opportunity to do even more.
Today, Camp Rock of Georgia is expanding its reach by opening an extension site in Atlanta, building on the foundation that began in South Georgia and the ministry efforts already taking place within the community. This expansion allows us to partner with families, churches, and community members to provide resources, support, and care for children impacted by foster care throughout the region.
What began as compassion in action continues to grow into a mission of hope — serving vulnerable children, strengthening families, and mobilizing communities to make a lasting difference.
What We Do
Recruit
Foster Families
We help Christian families explore foster care, walk through the approval process, and take their first steps with confidence and support.
Support
Foster Parents
From prayer and encouragement to practical resources, training, and check‑ins, we stand beside foster parents so they never feel alone.
Serve Children
in Care
We work to place children in safe, loving homes where they can experience stability, healing, and the hope of Christ in everyday life.
Equip the
Church
We partner with churches to raise awareness, build foster care ministries, and mobilize believers to pray, give, serve, and open their homes.
"Provide justice for the needy and the fatherless; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. Rescue the poor and needy; save them from the power of the wicked."
-Psalm 82:3-4
Our work is motivated by our faith and the belief that caring for vulnerable children reflects the heart of God. We believe every person is created in His image and worthy of love, dignity, and compassion. As we serve children and families, we strive to demonstrate grace, hope, and practical support in tangible ways.
