Start Your
Foster Care Journey

Opening your home to a child in foster care is a meaningful and life-changing decision. While the journey may feel overwhelming at first, you are not meant to walk it alone. Our team is here to guide, equip, and support you every step of the way.

We believe ordinary families can provide extraordinary hope when given the right training, encouragement, and community.

To Reflect God's Heart

Caring for vulnerable children is a tangible way to live out compassion and faith. Foster care allows families to demonstrate love in practical, meaningful ways.

Why Foster?

Foster care is a meaningful opportunity to reflect the love of Christ to children in the Metro Atlanta area. When you open your home, you are offering more than a bed — you are providing stability, compassion, and a safe place for a child to begin healing. Through consistency, patience, and care, you can help bring hope into a season of uncertainty and remind a child they are deeply valued.

To Provide Stability in Crisis

Children entering care need calm, consistent adults who will walk with them through uncertainty and remind them they are valued and seen.

To Be Part of Restoration

Foster care supports not only children, but entire families. By stepping in temporarily, you become part of a greater story of healing and hope.

Common Questions

How long does the licensing process usually take?

The journey from your first inquiry to becoming legally licensed typically takes about 4 to 6 months. We walk with you through every background check and training session to ensure you feel fully prepared and confident.

Will it be expensive to foster a child?

Fostering is not meant to be a financial burden. There are minimal up-front costs for licensing, and once a child is in your home, the state provides a monthly per-diem to help cover the child’s needs. Camp Rock also provides additional resources and support.

What are the typical ages of children needing foster care?

Children of all ages, from infants to age 18, need safe homes. We see a significant need for families willing to welcome school-aged children, teenagers, and sibling groups to keep brothers and sisters together.

Do I need to own my home or be married?

No. You can rent or own your residence, and you can be single or married. What matters most is that you provide a stable, safe environment and have a heart for serving vulnerable children.

How long will a child stay in my home?

Every child's story is unique. Stays can range from a few days for temporary care to several months or more. While the goal is often reunification with birth families, some children may eventually become available for adoption.

What kind of support will I have during this process?

You will never walk this journey alone. Camp Rock provides comprehensive training, ongoing prayer support, regular check-ins, and access to a community of fellow foster parents who understand the challenges and joys of this ministry.

Answering the Call

We believe foster care is a profound faith-driven calling—a sacred invitation to reflect the heart of God by providing a stable and loving home for children in need. As you consider this life-changing mission, we invite you to take a moment to pray and reflect on the next steps your family is being called to take. Whether you are already feeling led to begin the process or are simply seeking clarity, know that answering this call is a powerful step toward healing and restoration.
